In honor of Labor Day

In honor of Labor Day, I’m sharing the hardest work I’ve ever done!

How long were your labors?

Kid #1, 15 hours

Kid #2, 8 hours

How did you know you were in labor?

Kid #1, 3 weeks early, contractions all night.

Kid #2, 1.5 week early, contractions all night plus early morning already-scheduled doctor's appointment.

Where did you deliver?

In the safety and security of the hospital, of course.

Drugs?

Yes, as soon as they would possibly let me have them.

C-section?

Nope.  Although there was the possibility of that with baby #2 when his heart rate dropped from 140 to 40.

Who delivered?

Kid #1- My wonderful OB/GYN, who no longer delivers babies. 

Kid #2- Another OB that a friend was working for - good doctor, not good bedside manner.
